Publication Ethics Statement
At-Takwin: Journal of Islamic Education Studies is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities and principles for all parties involved in the publishing process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
1. Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in At-Takwin reflects the authors’ quality of research and the credibility of the journal. Peer-reviewed publication ensures scholarly integrity, and ethical conduct is required from all participants throughout the process.
2. Duties of Editors
- 2.1 Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief decides which articles will be published, based on originality, clarity, validity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- 2.2 Fair Play: All manuscripts are evaluated based on academic merit without discrimination regarding gender, race, or affiliation.
- 2.3 Confidentiality: Editors must keep all information about submitted manuscripts confidential.
- 2.4 Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished information in their own research without the author’s permission.
3. Duties of Peer Reviewers
- 3.1 Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and improving the quality of manuscripts.
- 3.2 Promptness: Reviewers must inform editors if they are unable to complete a review within the given time.
- 3.3 Confidentiality: All materials received for review must be treated as confidential.
- 3.4 Objectivity: Reviews should be objective and supported by clear arguments.
- 3.5 Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify uncited references or similarities to other published works.
- 3.6 Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
4. Duties of Authors
- 4.1 Reporting Standards: Authors must present accurate and reliable research results.
- 4.2 Data Access and Retention: Authors should be prepared to provide raw data for editorial review if requested.
- 4.3 Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be original and all sources properly cited.
- 4.4 Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
- 4.5 Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of all referenced works must be given.
- 4.6 Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who made significant contributions to the study.
- 4.7 Hazards and Human Subjects: Research involving human participants must follow ethical standards and have appropriate consent.
- 4.8 Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
- 4.9 Fundamental Errors: Authors must promptly notify editors of any significant errors in their published work.
