Journal of Educational Technology and Arabic Learning (JEThAL) wants to ensure that all authors exercise due care and adhere to international standards for academic integrity, particularly regarding plagiarism.

WHAT COUNTS AS PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism occurs when an author takes ideas, information, or words from another source without properly crediting that source. Even when unintentional, plagiarism remains a serious academic offense and is unacceptable in international academic publications.
When Is Citation Required?

01
Specific Information
When authors use specific information (names, dates, places, statistical figures, or other details) from a particular source, a citation is required. This is only waived for common knowledge - facts available from more than five sources or widely known, for example that Indonesia is the most populous Muslim-majority country in the world.
02
Borrowed Ideas
When authors borrow ideas from other authors, citations are still required even if those ideas are later developed further - whether they concern how to interpret data, what methodology to use, what conclusions to draw, or broad developments in the field. Where an idea is developed further, the original source must still be cited first, and the author may then explain their more developed idea in the following sentence.
03
Direct Words & Quotations
When authors use another author's words, both a citation and quotation marks are required. Whenever four or more consecutive words are identical to a source the author has read, quotation marks must be used to indicate the original wording - a citation alone is no longer sufficient.
Upholding Academic Integrity
Journal of Educational Technology and Arabic Learning (JEThAL) upholds academic integrity, and the editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts that violate the standards set out above. For further information, prospective authors may contact the editorial office at jethal.jurnal@gmail.com.
