Posting Article Policy

Muwafaqat: Journal of Islamic Law, published by Cv. Kayaswara, encourages the responsible sharing, dissemination, and preservation of scholarly research to promote open access to knowledge, academic collaboration, and the advancement of Islamic legal studies.

This policy establishes clear guidelines for authors regarding the sharing and self-archiving of different manuscript versions, including preprints, accepted manuscripts, and final published articles. The policy is informed by the principles of scholarly communication, open access publishing, and relevant ethical guidance provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The journal supports the ethical dissemination of research in Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic family law, Islamic economic law, comparative Islamic law, and related legal disciplines while maintaining academic integrity, proper attribution, and the credibility of the scholarly publication process.

1. Preprint Policy (Version Submitted Before Peer Review)

Authors are permitted to share and archive the preprint version of their manuscripts before or during the journal's editorial and peer-review process.

A preprint refers to the original version of a scholarly manuscript that has not yet undergone formal peer review or been accepted for publication.

Authors may share preprints under the following conditions:

  1. Preprints may be deposited on personal academic websites, institutional repositories, recognized preprint servers, or other appropriate scholarly platforms.

  2. The manuscript must be clearly identified as a preprint that has not undergone peer review.

  3. Authors must ensure that preprint dissemination does not violate copyright agreements, confidentiality obligations, or applicable research ethics.

  4. Authors are encouraged to disclose the existence and location of any publicly available preprint when submitting the manuscript to the journal.

  5. Once the article has been officially published, authors should update the preprint record by including the complete bibliographic citation and Digital Object Identifier (DOI) linking to the final published version in Muwafaqat: Journal of Islamic Law.

  6. Authors must not present a preprint as a peer-reviewed or officially published article.

The availability of a manuscript as a preprint does not automatically constitute prior publication and does not, by itself, disqualify the manuscript from editorial consideration.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal remain subject to the journal's originality requirements, editorial screening, and double-blind peer-review process.

2. Accepted Manuscript (Postprint)

An accepted manuscript, also known as a postprint or Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM), refers to the version of a scholarly article that has successfully completed peer review and has been accepted for publication but has not yet undergone the journal's final copyediting, typesetting, formatting, or publication process.

Muwafaqat: Journal of Islamic Law permits authors to archive and share accepted manuscripts under the following conditions:

  1. Authors may deposit accepted manuscripts in institutional repositories, research funder repositories, personal academic websites, or other recognized scholarly platforms immediately following formal acceptance.

  2. The deposited manuscript must clearly indicate that it is the accepted version and not the final published article.

  3. Authors must acknowledge Muwafaqat: Journal of Islamic Law as the journal in which the manuscript has been accepted for publication.

  4. Once the final version becomes available, authors should update the deposited manuscript record with the complete citation and DOI of the published article.

  5. The accepted manuscript must not be presented as the journal's final formatted or typeset version.

  6. Authors must comply with applicable copyright, licensing, and third-party content permissions when sharing the manuscript.

Authors are encouraged to include the following statement when archiving an accepted manuscript:

"This is the accepted version of a manuscript that has undergone peer review and has been accepted for publication in Muwafaqat: Journal of Islamic Law. This version has not undergone final copyediting or typesetting. The final published version is available at https://jurnal.kayaswara.com/index.php/muwafaqat/."

Self-archiving of accepted manuscripts supports the visibility, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly research while maintaining a clear distinction between manuscript versions.

3. Published Version (Version of Record)

The Published Version, also known as the Version of Record (VoR), is the final and authoritative version of an article that has undergone peer review, editorial evaluation, copyediting, proofreading, and publication by Muwafaqat: Journal of Islamic Law.

The Version of Record represents the official scholarly publication and includes the final bibliographic information, journal formatting, and DOI where assigned.

The journal permits the sharing and distribution of published articles under the following conditions:

  1. Authors may share the final published version through institutional repositories, personal websites, academic networking platforms, and other scholarly dissemination channels in accordance with the applicable publication license.

  2. Authors must provide appropriate acknowledgment of the original publication in Muwafaqat: Journal of Islamic Law.

  3. The complete bibliographic citation and DOI link to the official published article must be included when available.

  4. Reuse, redistribution, adaptation, or reproduction of published articles must comply with the Creative Commons license applicable to the article.

  5. Authors and third parties must preserve appropriate attribution and indicate whether modifications have been made when required by the applicable license.

  6. The shared article must not be presented in a manner that misrepresents its publication status, authorship, original source, or scholarly content.

Authors are encouraged to use the official DOI link when sharing their published research to ensure that readers can access the authoritative version of the article.
